It is believed that energy flows in our body and if this energy is somehow disturbed, it directly affects our health and causes complications. These energy disruptors can be negative emotions, unpleasant pasts and traumatic experiences. EFT is a method to regain energy flow and free you from negative emotions.
EFT is becoming increasingly popular as a healing tool due to its effectiveness and immediate results. You can see it practiced in hospitals, psychotherapy clinics, business coaching and more. What is EFT? EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, which was developed by Gary Craig in the mid-1990s.
EFT is based on TFT, which means thought field therapy. Both have their roots in energy psychology, which some consider alternative medicine. Gary Craig is a former student of Dr. Callahan, who developed TFT. Gary studied the highest level of TFT and after a while developed EFT.
EFT and TFT are largely the same, as are their effects. However, EFT is much simpler and straightforward compared to TFT. Their main difference would be in the procedure. TFT has many sequences specific to each emotional concern, while EFT only has one sequence for all possible emotional concerns.
EFT is like simplified psychotherapy and is performed similarly to acupuncture without the use of needles. It is primarily used to reduce traumatic emotions and later for personality development. The basic theory of EFT is that by stimulating (by tapping with your fingers) the meridian points, commonly known as acupuncture points, in your body, you can erase or reduce the feeling of an unwanted emotion. These emotions can be anything such as pain, anger, lack of self-confidence or other problems. Others also use EFT to achieve things like weight loss, but perhaps the most amazing result would be overcoming physical limitations. In addition to finger tapping at certain points, there is also vocal confirmation. Although considered by many to be miraculous breakthroughs, it is not a 100% guarantee that you will experience the same effects. Like any other self-help methods, you need to practice consistently and the effects can be early or late.
Our body is a network of electrical impulses that is ultimately connected to our nervous system. By tapping the meridian points in our body, it helps balance the autonomic nervous system, which functions below human consciousness. If it is unbalanced it will cause many health problems.
Scientific studies show that cortisol levels, a hormone released during stress, are significantly reduced during an EFT session. Some benefits of EFT include better sleep, control of cravings, increased energy and productivity, improved self-image, clear thinking, relaxation and stress reduction.
There are a large number of people who can attest to the effectiveness of EFT. Even academics such as doctors and scientists have experienced it and firmly believe that EFT works. Although it is sometimes referred to as pseudoscience, those who have practiced it experience life-changing results.
