For this reason, sustainable trips - also referred to as "ecotourist" or "green" - are becoming increasingly important. When choosing the means of transport for the next trip, the environmental factor plays an important role. Which means of transport is most environmentally friendly? In this article we compare different means of transport with regard to their sustainability.

The plane is considered the most environmentally harmful means of transport. According to the Federal Environmental Office, a Boeing 747 generates an average of around 0.12 kg CO2 per kilometer.
