Naturopathy Corona – viewed holistically
Catherine Clinton, N.D
While the Roman Sars-Cov-2 finds its way worldwide, naturopathic medicine is becoming increasingly important. This coronavirus is new, so we don't know much about it yet. We have no examinations that prove that one of the nutritional and herbal information below prevents or treated Covid-19. However, we have a lot of information about nutritional and herbal interventions with existing viruses, including other coronaviruses. As naturopathic doctors, we have a long and rich tradition in the recognition of the "terrain" theory. Therefore, in view of this current pandemic, we can do a lot to influence the general health and vitality of our patients.
There are some things to consider with this new coronavirus. First, it binds to the epithelium of the lungs with spike proteins that fit into the ACE 2 receptor of the epithelium ( source ). ACE-2 receptors are in the epithelium of the lungs, the blood vessels, the heart, kidneys and the intestine. With increasing virus load, Sars-Cov-19 produces an enzyme called 3CL-Proteease, that enables the virus to spread to neighboring cells and at the same time to inhibit the innkeeper's innate immune response ( source ). In the cell, SARS-CoV-2 takes over a host protein called Mtor. Naturopathy Corona can successfully support these systems with lifestyle, nutrition and botanical interventions.
As naturopathic doctors, we continue to follow the CDC guidelines -and advise our patients to follow them -to wash their hands, to carry a face mask in public, not to touch their face and stay at home. We also recognize how important it is to ensure our entire terrain with lifestyle measures, nutrition and herbs. So let's examine the research on naturopathy corona.
Lifestyle Considerations
Sufficient sleep creates a terrain that is optimized for combating infections and at the same time is anti -inflammatory. Earlier studies have shown that sleep deprivation weakens the immune response to vaccinations, while sleep increases the antibody response to hepatitis A ( Source1, Source2 ). Inadequate or excessive sleep correlates with an increased risk of infectious diseases, with evidence that both are associated with an increased risk of pneumonia ( source ). Shorter sleep duration has been linked to increased susceptibility to colds as well as a greater number of symptoms reported by adults vaccinated with rhinovirus ( source ). One study found that a partial night's rest reduced both natural killer (NK) cell counts and NK cell responses ( source ). This finding is of particular interest because NK cells are part of the innate immune system and are some of the first responders to a viral infection. Sleep also activates integrin, improving T cell responses ( source ):
Gαs-coupled receptor ligands potently inhibit TCR-mediated integrin activation on antigen-specific CD8 + T cells, while sleep upregulates integrin activation by suppressing Gαs-coupled receptor signaling. Given the importance of integrin activation in the formation of immunological synapses, our data suggest a crucial role of states such as sleep, characterized by low levels of Gαs-coupled receptor ligands, in enhancing T cell responses. (Dimitrov et al., 2019) ( source )))
Adequate sunshine is another effective method of natural medicine Corona to support the immune system in the face of a viral infection. Time in the sun increases our vitamin D3 levels and we know that vitamin D3 is essential for immune function. For example, vitamin D3 increases cytokine responses, antimicrobial peptides and surface defensins, which are part of our first line of defense against viral particles that land in the respiratory tract ( source ). Sunshine not only increases vitamin D3, but also supports the immune system that is independent of vitamin D. Studies from last year have shown that sunlight increases the speed of T cells and thus enables a faster immune response to infections ( source ). It is interesting to note that outdoor treatment, in which patients were exposed to direct sunlight and plenty of fresh, ventilated air during the 1918 influenza pandemic - used to treat influenza, pneumonia and tuberculosis - had much lower infection rates and lower infection severity and symptoms ( source ). While these hospitals that offer treatment in the open air had better ventilation, sunlight and hygiene, they have also brought the patients more contact with the abundance of electrons that the earth's surface offers. It was shown that "grounding", ie the practice of bringing the body into direct contact with the surface of the earth, the immune response increases to vaccinations, measured by the gammaglobulin concentration and it was assumed that this is the reason for anti -inflammatory effects and to promote a robust immune system ( Source1, Source2 ).

Nutritional Considerations
Naturopathy Corona attaches immense importance to the role that diet can play in the health of the immune system, especially when it comes to viral infections. Avoiding simple sugars due to their immunosuppressive effects is extremely beneficial. The 1973 classic neutrophil phagocytosis study at Loma Linda University was the first to examine the influence of sugar intake on neutrophil function. The researchers gave subjects who had fasted orally overnight 100-gram portions of glucose, fructose, sucrose, honey or orange juice. Blood samples were taken before and after ingestion of the sugar to determine the neutrophil phagocytosis response Staphylococcus to examine epidermidis. After taking one of the sugar, the neutrophile phagocytosis reaction was significantly reduced ( source ). An increase in inflammatory cells and intestinal dysbiosis have also been observed after simple sugar intake ( source,, source ). Intestinal dysbiosis and reduced levels ofLactobacillus and Bifidobacterium were observed in some hospitalized patients in China with COVID-19, making gut health important to the discussion of COVID-19 ( source ). It has been shown that probiotic and fiber-rich diets improve the intestinal dysbiosis and stimulate the immune system to combat viruses, while the T-regulatory cells are increased to combat inflammation ( Source1, Source 2 ). Naturopathy Corona is particularly suitable for intestinal health.
Compounds in brightly colored fruits and vegetables may reduce pro-inflammatory mediators while improving immune cell profiles. This is particularly important when considering COVID-19 and the complications of a cytokine storm that can follow the associated pneumonia ( source ). Flavonoids to inhibit the viral enzyme 3CL protease and inhibit previous SAR-COV activity in cells. A diet that is rich in colorful fruit and vegetables is a strong help for patients with Covid-19 ( source ). Different types of mushrooms, which can be obtained from food and through supplementation, also have several powerful antiviral actions against several viruses that are the cause of flu and other infections ( source ).
Melatonin generally also supports antiviral immunity in naturopathy Corona and helps control inflammation in viral infections, in part due to its antioxidant properties ( Source1,, Source2 ). Studies have shown that melatonin specifically inhibits the production and activation of the pro -inflammatory mediators observed in sepsis. This could prove to be useful in the treatment of Covid-19 ( source ). Melatonin is slightly available for oral use and is also made by the body. The melatonin level in the body is strongly influenced by compliance with the natural daily rhythm. The sunlight during the day (which seems to increase the production of serotonin, the forerunner of melatonin ( source )) determines the amount of melatonin available, while the absence of light at night stimulates the secretion of melatonin.
Vitamin C has strong antiviral effects by increasing the NK cells and it was shown in a mouse study that it reduces the damage caused by the influenza a virus ( source ). The study showed that mice that are missing vitamin C is reduced, inflammatory cytokines (IL-1α, IL-1β and TNFα) were increased and the infiltration of inflammatory cells in their lungs had increased about 2.5 times ( source ). In another study in mice, vitamin C and red ginseng were examined to improve the activity of T cells and NK cells, while also suppressing the viral lytic cycle and causing lung inflammation caused by a viral infection. These effects increased the survival rate ( source ). Dr. Paul Anderson recently published a paper with detailed information on Chinese research results, which showed an improvement in the symptoms, a shortened hospital stay of 3 to 5 days and no mortality in the group of hospitalized patients with medium to severe covid-19, who received intravenous ascorbic acid (IVAA) (IVAA) (IVAA) source ). The paper also highlighted the low risk of this affordable intervention in naturopathy Corona, as IVAA has been shown to be well tolerated in a hospital setting under various conditions without adverse side effects ( source ). Since no adverse side effects were reported, the paper also showed the low risk of this intervention.

Vitamin A is another strong player in the antiviral team. Vitamin A enhances NK cell and T cell proliferation by enhancing IL-2 secretion and signaling in T cells ( source ).

It was found that zinc has an inhibitory effect on previous corona virus by inhibiting the RNA polymerase activity. It has been shown that zinc ionophore block the replication of Sars-Cov and other viruses ( source ). The Chloroquin malaria medicament is a zinc ionophor and is currently being examined for use with this new Sars-Cov-2. Studies show that quercetin and epigallocatechingallat also have zinc ionophoricity ( source ). Both quercetin and resveratrol can inhibit MTOR and reduce respiratory infections, which is important in this new virus ( Source1,, Source2 ). Resveratrol has also shown direct virucidal activity against Zika virus (ZIKV) and possesses anti-ZIKV replication properties ( source ).

Botanical considerations
Propolis is a strong antimicrobial and antiviral substance of bees, the high flavonoid content of which also offers antioxidant protection. Studies have shown that propolis has anti-influenza virus activity, relieves influenza symptoms and extends the lifespan of influenza-infected mice ( Source1,, Source2 ). Propolis' unique mechanism for improving viral clearance is to increase the TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand ( source ). It is also rich in flavonoids that inhibit 3CL protease.

Astragalus reduces inflammation, but is also antiviral and can trigger a Th1 response ( source ). An animal study found that Astragalus inhibited overproduction of nitric oxide and the inflammatory cytokines in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages, while also the production of these inflammatory mediators in stimulating macrophages not stimulated by LPS did not cause cytotoxicity ( source ). Given Astragalus' immunostimulatory and anti-inflammatory properties, this botanical should be a potent option against COVID-19 ( source ).

Goldenseal and Oregon grape root are directly toxic to viruses and bacteria ( source ). They were also used in successful treatments for secondary pneumonia that can accompany heavy viral infections ( source ). Berberine, the active ingredient of these two herbs, has been shown to inhibit viral protein trafficking/maturation in macrophages (which inhibits viral growth) and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory TNFα and PGE-2 ( source ). Echinacea was induced at the beginning of the infection inflammatory cytokines, so that help can also be offered in the dissolution of the inflammation after the infection ( source ).

Our recommendation: natural echinacea tablet- highly concentrated, vegan
Elderberry is a strong candidate for COVID-19 infections. Studies show that elderberry blocks the absorption of viruses and that its flavonoids block the ability of viruses to infect host cells after binding to H1N1 virions ( source ). Black elderberry was proven to be effective against a former human corona tribe ( source ). Earlier studies have shown that elderberry is both anti -inflammatory and has antioxidant properties ( source ). While the botany stimulates the IL-6 production as part of an immune response, it also promotes the production of IL-10, which has been shown that it reduces the damage from cytokin storms (other viruses reduces ( source ). Finally, elderberry has a high flavonoid content, making it a powerful inhibitor of 3CL protease.

Conclusion
As shown above, naturopathic Corona has a variety of promising therapies for the treatment of the new SARS-COV-2. In particular, in view of the limited number of currently available pharmaceutical interventions, naturopathic medicine should be thoroughly examined for the treatment of COVID-19. Future research is then necessary to evaluate the specific effectiveness of these naturopathic interventions for this new virus.
