Menopause Support - Essential Oils to Use and Application Methods for Best Results
Naturally regulates and balances your hormonal response with a synergistic blend of pure essential oils to relieve menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings, headaches, depression, anxiety, fatigue and nervousness.
A synergistic blend of essential oils may be more effective in achieving desired results than any individual essential oil. The pure essential oils that I recommend you use in a blend to naturally regulate and balance the hormonal and autonomic nervous system response for natural menopause support are:
Clary Sage, Geranium Bourbon (Reunion), Petitgrain, Cypress and Lavender
Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) – A particularly inviting, delicately floral and sweet oil! Clary sage can have a deeply calming effect on nervous tension in both men and women. Known for its natural affinity with the female reproductive organs, Clary Sage is strongly Yang and therefore helpful in balancing excessive Yin states.
GERNIUM BOURBON ( Pelargonium graveolens ) from the Reunion Islands of Madagascar. The Bourbon variety of geranium oil from Madagascar is considered by many to be the most desirable for hormonal balance. Geranium Bourbon has a particularly intoxicating and sensual aroma that will stimulate your senses. Effective research and clinical evaluations of the main chemical components of geranium oil have been carried out in Germany. The results of these studies demonstrate successful treatment of imbalances in the autonomic nervous system.
LAVENDER ( Lavendula augustifolia ) – Strongly scented lavender has a distinctly sweet floral-spice aroma that is a little wild and woody. The gentle nourishing and healing effects of a regenerating lavender on the body, mind, soul and emotions are due to its remarkable ability to harmonize and stabilize the entire human energy system or chakras.
PETITGRAIN (Citrus aurantium) – A warm, refreshing orange aroma that sparkles with brightness. Petitgrain is a top note often used in perfumery. Almost all Cologne waters contain some petitgrain oil. A phytoestrogen petitgrain promotes hormonal balance in men and women and has a particularly good synergy with clary sage.
CYPRESS ( Cupressus sempervirens ) Cypress oil has a distinctly clean, fresh, woody aroma that is light and clear with hints of spice, reminiscent of pine and juniper berries. The oil is distilled from the leaves (needles) and cones of the columnar, evergreen cypress from Mediterranean Europe. Cypress oil helps regulate hormonal effects. Stimulates the onset of menstruation. An effective treatment for hormonal imbalances in women and to regulate the menstrual cycle, as well as problems related to menopause. Use Cypress Oil to Reduce Severe Hot Flashes!
METHODS OF APPLICATION TO RELIEF MENOPONAL PAIN:
METHOD 1: Add 15 drops of your essential oil synergy blend to a 1-ounce bottle of carrier oil, shake well, and allow the oils to synergize for 24 hours or longer as time permits.
Dispense 1-3 drops of your synergy blend, inhale and apply to chest, hips, lower back and kidney areas. The oils enter through the neurovascular points in these areas to effectively trigger your relaxation and healing response, promote balance and support your hormonal system.
A note about carrier oils: I recommend pure, light coconut oil as the ideal carrier oil. Coconut oil is completely metabolized by the body and, unlike most oils, is not absorbed into the body's fat cells and tissues, making it an ideal carrier for essential oils to pass through the fat cells under the dermis and into the blood vessels that supply the muscles, etc. Even light coconut oil remains liquid at room temperature and clogs due to its light consistency the skin pores, making it suitable for sensitive or problematic skin.
METHOD 2: Direct inhalation is the most commonly used method in Germany and the one I use most often in my aromatherapy practice.
HOW TO USE – Add 1-3 drops of your pure essential oil blend to a tissue or cotton ball. Inhale the essential oil vapors for 30-60 seconds. Breathe in slowly and pause briefly as you breathe in. Then breathe out slowly and let go of any tension. Repeat this slow, rhythmic breathing five more times.
Please note: You can also use an air or fan diffuser to deliver your oils for direct inhalation.
Aromatic oils stimulate your olfactory nerves, which send a signal to your brain's neuroreceptors and trigger numerous electrochemical reactions. Research shows that essential oils remain in your bloodstream for up to 4-6 hours.
PLEASE NOTE: There are many cheap, synthetic copies of aromatic oils available, but these are not recommended for therapeutic use. For best results, purchase the highest quality oils you can find. Use certified organic essential oils or oils that have been tested and are pesticide-free.
