Top three herbs for David Wolfe

David “Avocado” Wolfe is considered by his peers to be one of the world’s leading authorities on nutrition. David Wolfe is the author of numerous nutrition books such as Amazing Grace, Naked Chocolate, Eating For Beauty and Sunfood Diet Success System. This is David Wolfe and he shares with us three of the essential raw organic foods we must have in our household.

First and foremost is garlic. Garlic is diaphoretic, diuretic, expectorant and stimulant. It has many wonderful effects and healing properties and, in addition to its other benefits, has stimulant and stomachic properties.

Garlic was already recognized as an antiseptic because it was used during war to control suppuration in wounds. Its raw juice is expressed, diluted with water and applied to sterilized sphagnum moss swabs, which are then applied to the wound. This wartime treatment saved the lives of thousands of men through its use.

It is also used in ointments and lotions to disperse hard swellings. Tested and used as a poultice against scrofulous wounds and is also said to prevent anthrax in cattle. Its other benefits include prevention of cold and flu, aid in treating high cholesterol levels, an effective natural mosquito repellent, a natural antibiotic, and a powerful antioxidant.

Second on David Wolfe's list is Echinacea. Echinacea is a purple coneflower and the best-known herb for stimulating the immune system. Thousands of Europeans and Americans use Echinacea for colds, flu, minor infections, and other illnesses major and minor. Echinacea, a Native American herb, has a very impressive record in laboratories and clinical research as it is currently used to treat infectious diseases.

The main uses of Echinacea are as follows. Used to treat colds, coughs, flu and other respiratory diseases, enlarged lymph glands, sore throats, urinary tract infections, other minor infections, combating herpes and candida, wounds, skin regeneration and skin infections, psoriasis, eczema and inflammatory skin diseases.

Echinacea increases the non-specific activities of the immune system, meaning that it stimulates the overall activity of the cells responsible for fighting all types of infections. Echinacea makes our own immune cells more active in attacking bacteria, viruses and abnormal cells, including cancer cells.

The third herb suggested by David Wolfe is Lomatium herb. Lomatium herb comes from North America and is used medicinally for infections. The herb was used by many Native American tribes to treat infections, particularly those affecting the lungs. It was used particularly in the southwestern United States during the 1917 influenza pandemic with reportedly good results. Lomatium herb also has an antiviral effect and an antibacterial agent.

So that's it with David Wolfe and his herbs. I hope this one helped you live a healthy life in a raw organic way. Have a good day!
