Tattooing has had its ups and downs over the centuries and has even been banned many times in different cultures for certain periods of time. It seems that tattooing will never really go away. During a ban it appears to go underground until it is free to resurface.

Today's women can make their own decisions when it comes to tattooing. It is becoming increasingly popular to place artistic designs almost anywhere on the body. Even twenty years ago, you didn't see tattoos on women very often. Now you can go to any beach and see a design on the lower backs of young girls tanning in the sun.
