Creativity: The Constant Invitation
Creativity is not just the domain of art– It’s there for everyone all the time. As much as we have been trained, educated and socialized out of our natural creativity, every moment of every day it knocks on our door and beckons us to our commitment. To refuse the invitation of creativity is to deny the full expression of our humanity. We can follow his call or go back to life as usual, apologizing for any creativity that might arise between the serious matters of life. But what if it is the lack of appreciation and encouragement of creativity that made the business of life so serious in the first place?
Creativity makes the impossible possibleby creating a window, the threshold, the path into what is possible and what comes next. It transforms perceived limitations into surprising possibilities. It frees us from our current reality and insists on new choices and diverse options. Creativity doesn’t choose favorites. It leaves no one on the sidelines. There is unconditional consideration and a constant invitation to play... to everyone. It's not about job title, education level, socioeconomic status, religious beliefs or cultural background. It is there in endless availability for everyone to pamper themselves.
Creativity is the thread that connects previously severed connections: the bond that unites what is shared. Creativity is what brings concepts to life. It makes the inner outer, the imagined real and the dreamed realized. It bridges and transcends worlds. It solves problems, expands possibilities, increases awareness and enlivens life. Creativity is giving, supporting, generative and expansive. It moves us towards more freedom. It is a diplomat, healer, communicator and sage.
There is so much life within us that longs to bubble to the surface.Creativity is the great animator. It penetrates our current structures and systems and gives rise to new forms. Creativity is always there, waiting, ready to be harnessed, utilized, cultivated and expressed to bring us to life. Creativity, along with love, is the core of being human.
We live in a creative universe on a creative planet and it is literally impossible not to create... all the time. There is not a person alive who is not already creative, and if given space and opportunity, they will come to it and know this about themselves.
