Herbs contraindicated during pregnancy
herbs for horses are part of a natural diet, but do you know which herbs are not recommended for the pregnant mare or another pregnant mammal? Here is a list made from different resources that you may find useful.
When it comes to pregnancy, it is important to do some research before giving the future mother something. Even if it seems to be as natural and widespread as a herb can be.
This list is not complete and I am sure that I will come across some other herbs!

abortifacient : induced abortion
emmenagoge : promotes the menstrual flow
oxytocic : promotes birth
uterus stimulans: produces uterine cramps
teratogen : able to disturb the growth and development of an embryo or fetus
mutagen : a remedy that can cause mutations
fetotoxin : a substance or an active ingredient that can poison a fetus or embryo developing or cause degenerative effects
