You are sure that you will play a Jedi. After all, it was the Force-sensitive characters that hooked you from the start. But now that there are a total of four advanced Jedi classes to choose from when Star Wars the Old Republic releases, which should you play? If you want to emulate Master Yoda, go to the Jedi Ambassador. The next question is: Should you specialize as a Jedi Ambassador as a Jedi Shadow or a Jedi Sage? Here are the preparations to help you decide which advanced class to pursue.
First of all: When can you decide on a specialization? That would be once you reach level 10. When it comes to what you can expect in terms of overall advanced class setup, the SWTOR Jedi Sage places a heavy emphasis on the Force as opposed to anything lightsaber-related. The Jedi Shadow, on the other hand, is suitable for those who prefer to use the lightsaber more and focus primarily on stealth and burst damage.
There are a total of three skill trees, also known as builds, that the Jedi Sage and Jedi Shadow can further specialize in. Two are specific trees available to any advanced class, while one is an available option for both classes. The shared balance skill tree provides abilities for the class that further enhance both force and lightsaber abilities. Some of the well-known abilities are those like Containment and Presence of Mind, which are both passive abilities. Containment essentially does a 100% reduction in the cast time of Force Lift in addition to the ability to stun targets for 2 seconds. Presence of Mind, on the other hand, increases the possibility of performing a second Force attack immediately after Telekinetic Throw with increased damage.
For SWTOR Jedi Shadow, the other two available skill trees for players to choose from are Infiltration and Kinetic Combat. The Infiltration ability is all about stealth and positioning for the next best attack, while the Kinetic Combat ability is more about using the dual lightsaber ability to protect Jedi and allies. As for the SWTOR Jedi Sage, in addition to the balance skill tree, other available options include Telekinetics and Seer. Telekinetics involves using Force abilities to distort the enemy's reality and manipulate energy waves.
Regardless of which Jedi specialization you play and which skill tree you descend, it is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
