What is healthy eating?

The food we eat is the raw material our bodies need to build, heal and regenerate. We need to provide our bodies with the right nutrition.

The quality of the nutrients contained in food depends on the quality of the food itself. Organically grown fruits, vegetables and grains are more nutritious and less harmful to our environment and our bodies.

Our bodies need nutrient-dense food, the nutrients that nourish our cells, the nutrients that help rid our body of deficiencies.

We need to enjoy our food while nourishing our bodies.

We need a balanced diet that avoids refined and processed foods.

We need more fresh vegetables, more whole foods like whole wheat pasta and more whole grain products.

We need food that is grown without chemicals and pesticides, without hormones and antibiotics.

We need fresh fish rich in Omega-3.

We need fresh lean meat, organic if possible.

A healthy meal will nourish our body and eliminate our cravings.

A meal doesn't have to be a three-course meal to be nutritious. It must contain vegetables that provide most of the minerals and vitamins. It must contain fish or lean meat or nuts, which provide mainly proteins and healthy fats; Whole grains that provide complex carbohydrates and healthier nutrients.

My favorite meal is a salad with various vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, red and yellow peppers, a grilled marinated chicken breast or a small portion of salmon fillet or simply a slice of goat cheese with toasted almonds. It's a real feast and such a colorful plate.

If you wish, you can bring the herb garden to your plate. Why not add your favorite fresh herbs to your salads and cooking? This should be a feast for your senses. How about some parsley, dill, coriander, chives, chive flowers, oregano, rosemary….

What we drink is no less important than what we eat.

Even though we may not feel thirsty, our bodies need water, pure water, fresh water. Water will best quench our thirst.

Our body needs at least 8-10 glasses of water every day. If you drink coffee, you need to drink even more water.

Fruit juices and vegetable juices quench our thirst and provide our bodies with nutrients. If you want to lose weight, drink fruit juice sparingly as they usually contain a lot of sugar.

Before starting a weight loss program, it is advisable to consult a doctor and do some tests to check whether you have any nutrient deficiency or hormonal imbalance or other health problems that could be the reason for your weight gain.
