Why the selection of healthy foods in the grocery store can be difficult
I was in the supermarket yesterday (supermarket) and had to shake my head with all the cleverly misleading food markings that exist everywhere. In every course I saw tons of products that claimed all kinds of things that are supposedly "healthy" but are not in reality. This is the worst deception of food marketing.
One of the things that really worried me was that I saw several examples of healthy foods in their natural state and at the same time noticed fake, excessive versions of these original life, which claimed that they were healthier than the natural version.
In reality, all of these fake versions were much worse for them than the original ... And they still have the balls to say that their excessive "junkified" versions are better.
The sad thing is that millions of people fall for this misleading food marketing every day. Here are some examples that I noticed:
Example 1: Product that claims to be "better than peanut butter"
This product is ridiculous! I can't believe that someone would ever believe that this processed garbage is better for him than natural, minimally processed peanut butter.
If you buy a good natural organic era butter, they are usually just two ingredients ... peanuts and salt. And they don't add much salt so that it is not a product with a high sodium content.
This fake peanut butter, which claimed that it was "better than peanut butter" (tried to look healthier as natural peanut butter, based on the information on the label), contained a list of processed garbage that they would not believe. First remove all natural healthy fats from the peanuts so that it is a "low -fat" product. Okay, now you have just taken away one of the healthiest parts of the peanut butter ... the appetite, the healthy fat that you need to control the desire and achieve a more stable blood sugar level in your body.
To make things worse, the healthy fats were replaced by 2 different types of syrups on sugar -based and additional dehydrated pipe juice (also known as Sugar), in addition to sophisticated strengths (if they did not receive enough blood sugar tips), still sophisticated carbohydrates).
This product has taken something as simple and natural as peanut butter and made it a kind of processed junk sweetness. However, they claim that it is healthier for them than peanut butter. And somehow they get away from the masses on their label. Don't be your fool!
Example 2: Product that claims to be "better than eggs".
I will not respond to this in detail because I recently dealt with this entire topic in detail in another e-zine output.
Basically, this product is only protein with a number of additional chemical dyes, flavors and other nonsense, including artificially added vitamins.
This product also has a good thing ruined by removing the healthiest part ... the egg yolk! And yes, the egg yolk is the healthiest part of the egg. Anyone who tells them something else doesn't understand much about real nutrition. The most important thing for high -quality whole eggs is that they are cage -free and organic.
Most people do not know that almost the entire high -quality diet of an egg is contained in the egg yolk. The majority of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and trace elements are in the egg yolk, not in the white. Even the protein in the whites is not so high quality in terms of bioavailability without the amino acid profile of the egg yolk, which complements the amino acid profile of the whites.
and no, cholesterol in eggs is not bad for her ... it increases her good cholesterol more than bad cholesterol and improves her overall profile. And the fats in whole eggs are also balanced and healthy for them.
conclusion ... whole eggs are healthier than protein. It is not even a close comparison. The information on the label is just another example of the deception of food marketing.
Example 3: A product that claims to be "better than butter".
This was essentially crappy margarine, which was loaded with highly processed and fatal trans fats, but the nerve had to say that it was "better than butter".
don't fall for it!
Even inferior butter is better for them than any margarine on the market. A problem with butter are the pesticides and hormones that often occur in cows that are not properly raised.
For this reason, it is always a good choice to choose organic butter, and if you find grass-fed butter, I would even say that it can be healthy for her. Butter with grass is higher in the natural form of useful conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). In fact, adding some butter to your muffled vegetables helps your body, more vitamins and minerals in vegetables.Due to the content of stable saturated fats in butter, butter is one of the best oils for cooking. Oils with a high content of polyunsaturated fats such as soy, corn, saflor (and even flax) are the worst due to the very unstable chemistry. I have a comprehensive article about which oils are most healthy for cooking and which are not based on their chemistry.
Another point ... The saturated fat in butter is not bad for you. We have already hit a dead horse with this topic in previous articles, but here too you can find more detailed articles on this topic on my website.
