Combat allergies with audio programs? We look at Mindvisory
This article was commissioned by Mindvisory.
In this test, our 22-year-old editor, who is plagued by allergies, was put on the headphones at home in the evening and asked for feedback. This time we are reporting from the perspective of a 22-year-old woman and have not given any conditions or guidelines. This is a free and unbiased review of the Mindvisory audio program for people with allergies.
What is this audio program about?
The main aim of the audio program is to explain to the listener what an allergy is and how to normalize the reactions to the substances. You get to know your immune system better and with this background knowledge you can effectively change your way of thinking, allowing your body to adapt to it differently.
You learn how an allergy comes about, what triggers it and you discuss a variety of things that enable you to prevent the symptoms from the outset by knowing the cause and being able to adapt to it. Like many others that only treat symptoms, the focus here is on what the cause is and using that as a foundation to build upon.
Initially you are advised to choose a substance to which you are allergic and then to choose a comparison substance to which you react well or positively.
Our editor reports in the first person perspective:
After this very healthy beginning, which started very promisingly, there was a commercial break for further audio programs, which threw me straight off the hook. I was very relaxed and positive, but this commercial break wasn't particularly relaxing, especially since you've already paid for the audio program and still have advertising in it. That's a no-go. You could happily do something like that at the end, but in the middle of it it's both a hindrance and the feeling was immediately negative as I was told to relax and then a commercial break is played. Should I now cancel or interrupt the current audio course to purchase another audio program?
The audio programs are very long. Shortening the audio itself would have been helpful. Constant repetition with different wording doesn't bring me any closer to the goal. I have 30 minutes. long listening to things like “feel the color”, “feel the material A”, “feel the material B”, “deal with it, you have a good feeling”, etc.
A type of hypnosis is integrated into the program, in which I am supposed to use my imagination to get the allergy under control. This should definitely be burned into my subconscious, but the way it was done wasn't very suitable for me, at least I didn't feel very comfortable with it because I was already negative because of the commercial break and couldn't really empathize with it any further.
I can well imagine that these audio programs can help people who are a little better at it than I am. As a young person, I'm too impatient and too easily distracted, which gave me a rather useless aftertaste. However, my overall impression is positive, although the commercial break is the biggest thing that comes to mind when I think about Mindvisory's audio program because I now know more about allergies.
Conclusion:
I found it very good that it was explained to me very well and in detail and in an understandable way how allergies come about, how they are triggered and what the causes can be. Understanding allergies and how my own body tries to deal with them is also very interesting and a good start.
!!! -> COMMERCIAL BREAK <-!!!
Then a kind of hypnosis with continuous repetitions in order to be able to cope with it with my own imagination, which is long-winded and monotonous, which makes sense with such an audio program, but is useless to me without the relaxation factor. All in all, I now know more about allergies and how my body deals with them. As an audio teacher, it was great when the commercial break ended.
Conclusion of the editors:
In summary, we can describe Mindvisory's audio program as a very capable program, which unfortunately, due to poor administrative and marketing strategy, misses the point of relaxing, getting closer to the allergy and the body mentally and, with a hynotizing note, helping the listener to have a more positive attitude towards their allergies.
What our editor describes as lengthy is of course common practice in such audio programs, which works well if you are relaxed and positive. The constant repetition of thought processes and approaches creates more extensive connections in the brain, which gives the listener a feeling of better understanding.
For people who enjoy listening to audio books, this mind change program is sure to bring a positive result. Unfortunately in our case it was not recommended. Not because of the quality, but because of the management. However, we will communicate this information to the operator and these points will certainly be improved in the near future.
Pros & Cons
Positive:
- Sehr gute und detailreiche, sowie verständliche Aufklärung über Allergien
Negative:
- Werbung mitten im Programm
