Calm counts.
that sounds like a matter of course, but as many of us have a difficult relationship with rest.
Do you ever feel guilty because you have rested? If so, they are not alone. For a long time I felt that way. I considered the resting as a reward that I was hard worked and productive, but when I finally got there and was supposed to rest, I felt like I was lazy.
My perspective changed after I had practiced yoga for a while, and it was actually injuries and the compulsion to slow down, which led me to a consistent restorative yoga practice and a deep understanding of his physical and emotional advantages. There are different types of calm that we need, physical calm is one of them. Restorative yoga can be of an invaluable value here. I am sometimes joking that residual orga can look like a nap for adults, because it may look like a lot is lying around, but on a lower level there is a lot of this practice calms < Data contrast = "Auto"> The "fighting flight" reaction of the body and activates the parasympathetic nervous system (the part of the autonomous nervous system, which is responsible for the "rest and digestive" activities of our body. I have been teaching remaining yoga since 2012, but it was only in 2020 and during the Covid 19 pandemic I noticed a certain pattern of people who had never tried yoga and were attracted to practices such as remaining yoga, yoga nidra and yin yoga. The people were exhausted, shocked and tried to process what happened in the world. For many, the pandemic forced it for the first time in a long time to slower or stop. People who had never heard of restorative yoga before-but had searched for it-to lead this practice, was a great inspiration for me when I wrote my book. Rest + Calm: gentle yoga and mindful practices to maintain and restore themselves . I wanted to show ways how people can integrate residual -orgal yoga into their lives that feels accessible and get them on their way to develop their own resting practice. In addition to restorative yoga, I also inserted a whole section with other tips that range from soothing breathing exercises to instructions for setting limits and suggestions for a conscious daily life and much more. Before 2020, almost constant running was in full swing the norm. If one has taught us the last two years, then that it doesn't have to be that way. So, do you give room for rest in your life?
