January teacher feature: Sarah Deane
Our yoga teachers and studios were adaptable and awesome and have found new ways to connect and further teach and support their students. By locking, technical problems and learning to make adjustments practically via the zoom. This month we will throw a light on you! In January we will offer studios here on the blog and chat with teachers to celebrate those who kept us on the ground last year. Meet the yoga teacher Sarah Deane below.
Can you tell us something about yourself?
yoga is my passion and I've been practicing for many years; Try many different styles, from pregnancy yoga to a 4-hour intensive Kundalini yoga session on the roof while the sun goes down.
When my daughter was born, I took her to baby yoga courses that we both loved! When she became a toddler, I couldn't find a suitable class, so we continued our yoga trip online. This inspired me to train for the yoga qualifications of my children and adults so that I could teach myself. Yoga is so important for a strong body and mind and I am thrilled to pass on my knowledge and experience to others.
I am also associated with the International Dance Teacher’s Association and qualified dance teacher (AIDTA). I involve aspects of dance into my lessons.
My mission is to create a happier, healthier and more beautiful world through yoga.
What challenges were you faced as a yoga teacher in 2020 in a completely different year?
I started a toddler / preschool studio class before we went to the lockdown. I had the feeling that they were more suitable for a live environment, so I quickly turned to teach my adult classes online, and now I have live classes every week at Zoom. I have adapted well to a constantly changing situation and my main audience are short women like me who want to achieve results in a short time.
What did you teach in 2020 and can you find a silver strip in everything?
2020 taught me that nothing is certain and that things can change quickly, so we have to adapt quickly. It taught me to believe in myself and that there is always a way to avoid things, even in difficult times. Yoga keeps me strong and able to deal with every situation.
Where can you find inspiration and motivation?
from my partner for his urge to pursue opportunities
from my mother for her love and support
of my daughter to be a good role model for her; be strong and follow my dreams
any words of wisdom for someone who is struggling to remain positive and inspired?
to follow your dreams! There are always opportunities out there if you are looking for it and above all believe in yourself!
