We would like to know more about who you are. Can you tell us something about yourself and your activities?

I am the proud American-born daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants who sought the American dream. I adopted London as my home 15 years ago with my soulmate and together we have three fun and lively teenagers who enjoy cooking large family meals and taking long walks through London's beautiful parks with our dog.

I am also the founder of Women's Body Wisdom, a teacher ofembodied yoga, somatic movement and breath workas well as oneNutrition/lifestyle coach and writer. My businessHolisticly supports the hormonal health of women during the natural transition from perimenopause, menopause to postmenopause. I am passionate about guiding women to connect with their bodies and take charge of their hormonal healthand live their fullest potential.

As a yoga teacher, what are your passion projects and topics that you enjoy sharing with your students?

I am passionate about empowering womento truly know their bodies so they can be the best advocates for their health and well-being. My courses often educate women about areas of women's health that have traditionally been overlooked or ignored, such as: B. Pelvic floor and bone health, mental and emotional well-being.

gabriella-espinosa-interviewHow would you describe your own classes and retreats?

My teaching is inspired by the precision of alignment, the synchronization of breath and movement, the calming power of meditation and the journey inward to our felt experience. My courses and workshops aim to address many of the most common symptoms women experience during menopause. Above all, they are an exploration of each woman's unique journey to self-discovery.

My women's wellness retreats are about relaxing and resourcing from within and embracing our WHOLE selves, body and soul. We gather as women to expand our scope of connection, honor our wisdom, uplift each other, and support each other on our unique journey through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

I offer cooking demonstrations and nutrition discussions for hormone support, with an emphasis on delicious plant-based meals for optimal health. We take time to rest and reflect in a beautiful natural setting.

Women feel more informed and can reclaim their body's natural intelligence to navigate menopause and beyond more easily.

What impact has your yoga practice had on your own life throughout the year?

Yoga has generously offered me its rich and traditional teachings that I want to take off the mat and put into daily practice. The gifts of presence, truth, kindness, compassion, and deep love for myself and the world around me are invaluable and I share them with my students and family.

You left the corporate world to teach yoga and share your knowledge and passion with women. Why did you pursue this?

Yoga has been my constant companion for 22 years, providing grounding, clarity and strength as I have traveled the world in a busy professional career and then into pregnancy, motherhood and now menopause.

My teaching is informed by my personal healing journey to overcome stress, anxiety, autoimmune diseases, and navigating the transition to menopause. By deepening my knowledge of somatic body and breathing exercises and retraining as a nutritional therapist, I have been able to offer a holistic, 360-degree approach to health and wellness to the women I teach and work with.

The past year has forced many people to change the way they work, but we know you've been working on a lot of exciting things. Can you share some of this?

Yes, like many other yoga teachers and nutritional therapists, I had to move my work online and learn a new way of connecting with people in a virtual space. I feel like my life has been enriched by finding new ways to support others with their health and well-being. I currently offer online courses on somatic exercise and pelvic floor health for women that you can findHere.

I also took the opportunity to study and deepen my learning with international experts in women's health and neuroscience. I am particularly interested in the intersection of neuroscience, yoga, and emotional wellness for personal and collective self-care. I look forward to offering workshops and retreats that incorporate these areas of science and yoga to help women feel comfortable in their bodies.
