The cough usually goes away on its own after a few days. But for relief, you can either take over-the-counter medication or try some home remedies. Here are 10 home remedies that can relieve your cough.
Honey
Honey is an ancient home remedy for coughs and even science backs its health benefits. According to a study, honey is more effective than any other over-the-counter (OTC) medication in treating coughs. Its antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties can help relieve a sore throat. It is effective for people of all ages. However, it should never be given to babies under 1 year old as it can cause infant botulism in some cases.
How to use: Mix 2 teaspoons of honey into herbal tea or warm water. Drink it twice a day for effective result.
