Healthy Skin Diet: Why Juicing Is the Key to Young, Vibrant Skin
Admit it; As we get older, we all take a look in the mirror one morning and think, Gosh, I wish I had taken better care of myself. The wrinkles set in, the spots and blemishes become more severe, the skin becomes dull and we look older!
But what if there was a way to go back in time and make better decisions?Could you look younger? Could you be younger? Of course, if you are reading this article, you are hoping that the answer is actually: YES, it is possible.
As a nutritionist, the question I most often ask myself after losing weight is what I need to do to look younger. Of course, there are effective methods for improving and maintaining overall health that will certainly impact the elasticity and vibrancy of your skin. With the litany of diets, supplements, and skin creams, it's easy to become overwhelmed and turned off by false promises.
One of the biggest hurdles that most Americans and Europeans (particularly in the UK) face is that our diet has impaired the body's natural ability to heal itself. We eat so much lifeless, over-processed, nutritionally empty food that our digestive systems are overwhelmed. So when we finally eat nutritious and dense food, we cannot fully benefit from this diet.
Luckily there is an answer; actually two answers:

The benefits of juicing
Here's a good trick to determine if a piece of food is healthy: check the water content. When you cut or squeeze it, is there juice? Just like the human body, all “living” foods have significant water content. This liquid contains the lion's share of the nutrients found in food. According to a study conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, 90% of the antioxidant activity found in the 12 fruits studied was in the juice. another study published in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition:
“Cancer and cardiovascular benefits may be due to antioxidants rather than fiber.”[the theory that] pure fruit and vegetable juices are nutritionally inferior to fruits and vegetables in reducing chronic disease, which is not justified. “
Finally, we have now learned that juicing does not remove all the fiber from fruits and vegetables, only the insoluble fiber.
Why is this so beneficial? The answer is: nutrient absorption. As I said before, our diets are loaded with dead foods. This means that the food we eat lacks the living enzymes our bodies need to digest and absorb nutrients. The body has to disengage from other processes and increase the action of organs such as the pancreas to produce the necessary enzymes, which is not nearly as efficient.
Juice, on the other hand, is loaded with enzymes and is very easy to digest and absorb. Do you remember in elementary school when you learned that digestion begins in the mouth? This is because we chew food and it mixes with the saliva in our mouth. Juicing simply repeats this process, but on a much more efficient scale!.
This means that even in an enzyme-deficient body, you will absorb and benefit from the full amount of nutrients in the juice you drink!
