Yoga may be thousands of years old, but it is by no means outdated!
On the contrary, with yoga you can practice holistic health care - i.e. do something good for your mind, soul and body.
Most people who do yoga hope that it will reduce back pain. Which is also true. Finally, the diverse movement sequences, also known as asanas, have a beneficial and strengthening effect on the back, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Even someone who doesn't yet have a back can use yoga as a preventive measure.
However, yoga has much more to offer than just preventing and resolving back problems. Practiced regularly, it is a holistic method for promoting health with many positive effects on our mind, soul and body.
Even stress can be reduced with this method!
Are you wondering how this is supposed to work? It's simple: By combining the gentle movements with breathing, blood pressure, heart rate and muscle tension (which are always increased during stress) are reduced and cortisol (the number 1 stress hormone!) and adrenaline (another hormone which is increased during stress) are also reduced. This has been proven in various scientific studies and is one reason why health insurance companies, for example, recognize yoga courses as health care.
