Cortisone is a drug, and as with any drug, over time your body will build up a tolerance to it, making it less and less effective. To maintain effectiveness, you will need to change dosages and types. This medication works by suppressing your immune system and opening your body to potential infections that you otherwise wouldn't have to worry about. So your skin stops itching, but it could become infected. Which is worse?
Why subject yourself to such questions and decisions? Instead, choose a natural eczema medicine. What constitutes a natural remedy? If something comes from a laboratory, it is not natural. If it comes from nature, then it is natural. Simple but true. Natural remedies include homeopathic remedies, essential oils, herbal supplements, natural foods, and moisturizers, creams, and lotions containing herbal ingredients.
What makes a natural solution preferable to a pharmaceutical solution? The main advantage is that there are no adverse side effects with a natural eczema remedy. Your body will not build tolerance to natural medicines. You can use them day in and day out for long periods of time without worry. By all means, use natural medications to get relief, but once you have your symptoms under control, you should try to find the root cause and cure your eczema. Only then can you put your eczema into permanent remission.
