Home remedies for earache

Reflexology

For those of you unfamiliar with this procedure, it may sound strange that a foot massage could potentially help with a problem with your ear. But there are many who swear by this treatment. You can have someone massage the bottom and sides of your four little toes on the same foot as the ear that is causing the problem, or both pairs of toes. If you don't have anyone to do it for you, you can massage it yourself.

Eat more garlic

Eating two cloves of garlic per day can help with many health problems and is one of the most powerful earache home remedies you can take. Garlic has a long history as a medicine. It brings with it a love-hate relationship for many. But there is no question that it is effective in fighting infections. With a little practice, you can learn to eat more garlic and, in doing so, you will see infections disappear. You can also use garlic externally. Grate or crush a clove finely to release the oil it contains. Place this in a tablespoon of olive oil and let it soak overnight (24 hours is better). Warm up to body temperature. Strain and put 2 drops on a cotton ball. Place carefully in the ear and leave for 40 minutes to an hour.

Apple cider vinegar

Learn more about the health benefits of apple cider vinegar. Mix 1/3 apple cider vinegar with 2/3 steaming water and hold your ear over the steam. Be careful not to berate yourself. This remedy is good for both adults and children as it relieves pain, kills bacteria and has other health benefits.

Hot foot bath

I know, here I am treading lightly again. How can foot treatment be one of the home remedies for earache? It sounds strange to treat your feet when treating an earache, but many of you will find that this natural remedy works well. While you do a relaxing 30-minute foot bath, also place a hot compress on both ears for added benefit.
