History of alternative health care
Many people hear the words alternative health care, natural medicine, herbal remedies, etc. and twist their eyes. This is not a new reaction. These people believe that natural medicine is "hocus -pocus" and cannot compete with western medicine. What is probably unknown to you is that natural medicine or alternative health care has been around for a very long time. It has a story that is much longer and more diverse than that of Western medicine, and it is actually accepted by the majority of the eastern world and many other places on earth.
The history of alternative health care begins in the Middle East and in Egypt around 5000 years before Christ. People in these countries and regions had their specific methods to heal their sick or wounded and they had many solutions for frequent everyday symptoms and for long -term observable. These methods were passed on by Medicine / Medical Woman to the next, and in the course of the generations the doctors then refined their healing skills and became a great prize for their people.
further east have found that both India and China have medical practices, which are also 4,000 to 5000 years before Christ. In India, the healing principles that have been passed on for generations, namely amulted and Ayurvedic medicine, are still practiced today and now extend beyond India. This is not only proof of the power of oral tradition and a large legacy, but also proof that these natural remedies work because they have survived and are still recommended for so long.
in China are the concept of balance, Yin and Yang, Chi, the five elements, the harmony of emotions and spirit concepts that are still seen today. Not only that many people in China still follow these theories and principles, but almost everywhere on earth where they find a Chinese population, a Chinese herbalist or medicine man or an acupuncture practitioner. Taoism is still a popular alternative medicine that is practiced today. It is noteworthy, however, that Chinese remedies have not only expanded to inidan, but also to other companies and that some of their practices were even recognized by Western doctors.
When Europe came to the western world, it also had a history of natural medicine that is about 2000 years old. The poor in Europe found vegetable remedies to help their sick. They also practiced naturopathy and hydrotherapy, although hydrotherapy or water therapy can be attributed to old Rome. Even the United States has a history of natural medicine that was widespread in the time of the first colonies, in which the healing was mainly left to women who were later persecuted as witches.
Although many are skeptical, the alternative health care still has its place in the world today. 25 percent of Scottish doctors are qualified in homeopathy and the USA open its doors to these eastern traditions. As radical as it sounds, there is actually nothing more natural. After all, the whole world has been practicing this type of healing for thousands of years!
