Elidel and Protopic? Natural alternatives to treat eczema
One evening, while I was tied to the couch, a “cute” commercial came on for an eczema medication. It stated that it treated eczema and that there was no cure for eczema. Needless to say, as a naturopathic medical student, I was furious. There is a cure for eczema. This is called prevention. But that is another topic. What I want to address here: Elidel, the “cute” neurodermatitis drug, causes cancer in three different animal species. That's not sweet. Protopic also causes cancer in the same animal species.
What I would like to go into here: Elidel, the "cute" neurodermatitis medication, causes cancer for three different animal species. This is not cute. Protopic also causes cancer for the same species.
The FDA advised doctors to prescribe Elidel or Protopic only when all else has failed for eczema. Do not use long-term and do not use on children under 2 years of age.
What are the advice on Elidel and Protopic:
- Verwenden Sie nicht auf 2 Jahre oder jünger
- Nicht bei Personen mit schwachem Immunsystem anwenden
- Verwenden Sie nicht langfristig – nur intermittierend oder kurzfristig
- Nicht verwenden, bis alle anderen Ekzembehandlungen versagt haben
What damage can Elidel and Protopic cause:
- Das Krebspotential steigt mit der Häufigkeit. Je länger die Nutzung, desto höher die Chance.
- Das Krebspotential steigt mit der Menge. Mehr verwendet, desto höher die Chance.
- Infektionen der oberen Atemwege nahmen bei Kindern mit Elidel im Vergleich zu Placebo zu.
- Unbekannte Probleme mit der Entwicklung des Immunsystems bei Kindern – schaden oder nicht?
Here's what they've figured out so far. The list will grow. Why didn't they discover this before it came out????
Conclusion: Do not use Elidel or Protopic.
Natural eczema treatment is possible:
Find the advice of a trained naturopathic doctor and your eczema will disappear. Yes. Away. Food allergy is one of the main causes of eczema. Remove foods that you react allergic or insensitive - and your eczema will probably disappear.
Typical food allergens that cause eczema: egg, wheat or dairy products are the largest players. Which it is can be determined with a food exclusion diet. Do not fully do without this special food and its compounds (like soy sauce on wheat base) for 3 weeks. Then eat a lot of the avoided meal at the end of the three weeks. How do you feel? Symptoms come back, worsen, no change? Obviously they are sensitive or allergic when worsening. Avoid this food for at least 6 months. This allows your immune system to calm down and not react to everything.
There is also a simple technique that I learned in class this afternoon. Our professor explained that most people find it difficult to follow a diet without food. I agree. I know I do. He said he has patients do that48 hoursQuickly consume only a high-quality nutritional supplement powder such as BioCleanse Functional Food. Nothing else is eaten during this time. He states that 6 to 10 servings of BioCleanse daily will suppress appetite and allow the body to remove the reacting food antigens. At the end of the 48 hours, skin, energy and general well-being are assessed. If the eczema has improved during this time, and yes, it can get better that quickly because the skin regenerates quickly, then he knows that the eczema is nutritionally related.
A strong topical herbal cream preparation is also useful to treat eczema naturally. Dr. Rowan Hamilton from Rowan Botanicals recently released Professional Intensif and Professional Extreme.
However, the end result today is to avoid this ELIDEL and Protopic. Treat the cause of eczema - not only alleviate the surface with a topical steroid. Steroids only press toxins deeper and to another place. Do you know what the largest detoxification organ is in the body? Liver? Nope. The skin. Where do toxins appear when the liver is flooded with toxins? The skin. Eliminate the cause of the liver stagnation, carry out slight cleaning and apply a proven topical means to your skin. You should be much better in a few weeks.
As a side note:Do you know what can happen if children with neurodermatitis are administered steroids? Asthma. We see that again and again in the clinic. We take the prehistory of an asthmatic child and find that he/her topical steroids were given to control eczema or other skin problems. This goes back to what I said before. Steroids only suppress the immune system and stop the body's natural healing reaction to an accumulation of unwanted substances. These substances then accumulate elsewhere in the body. It is not advisable to push a little deeper into the body. Better out than in. Then we naturally start the child's skin problem and the asthma goes away. Sounds like a bunch of BS, isn't it? I don't shit. I understand science with a degree in cell and molecular biology. My medical faculty is a leader in naturopathy and we change the way medicine is operated. It is extremely enriching to see how patient improves patient. You can too.

Stay healthy.

PS – The basic premise you will see me saying over and over again… and over and over again: Treat the cause, not the symptoms. Sounds simple, but it is anything but simple. Imagine trying to figure out why someone has high blood pressure? Do you know the term used in conventional medicine for some of the causes of high blood pressure? Essential hypertension [what’s that?] and idiopathic hypertension [means unknown cause]. Pin it and you're done. I look forward to writing about it soon. I'm currently taking cardiology and learning a ton. It's amazing how successful natural treatments for high blood pressure are. Don’t get me wrong – I fully support conventional medicine and work with MDs all the time. Seattle is a very amazing city as the bridge between conventional and complementary medicine is solid. There's a time for drugs and there's a time for natural alternatives - and there's a time for both at the same time.
