Alternative medicine vs conventional medicine - does alternative medicine work?
Over the last 10 years I have seen several acupuncturists. They were all Chinese who studied their profession in China. All the doctors I saw believed that conventional and alternative medicine should be combined and that total elimination would be harmful.
Some alternative medicine works, some doesn't.
Many people wonder if it works. My answer is: It depends on what treatment you receive and how much you believe in it. Let me ask you this: Do antibiotics work? Is all the pharmaceutical medicine you are taking working? The fact is that all pharmaceutical medications can fix one problem and also cause another. When you take it, you expose your body to new diseases. Acupuncture, Tai Ci, yoga, meditation, and many other alternative methods of healing the body, including simple exercise, work. They work on different parts of the body. One thing is certain: none of these methods can harm your body in any way. You are not exposing yourself to disease and the only thing you are doing is helping the body heal NATURALLY.
I had to have surgery once and then went to my acupuncture doctor to take care of my body. After all, it wasn't a natural process, but it had to be done. Because surgery opens the body and exposes the inside to bacteria, a patient is given a course of antibiotics. Antibiotics are medications that kill a variety of bacteria in the body. In our body we always have good bacteria that are responsible for the proper functioning of our immune system, but in some cases we have bad bacteria that cause infections. If left untreated, this infection can be fatal. After this surgery, I started taking my antibiotics. When I went to my acupuncturist Dr. Henry Su came, I asked him if I should take the antibiotics since they do both harm and good. Can acupuncture alone treat and naturally cleanse the bad bacteria in my body? His answer was: "You should take your antibiotics until you finish the course, but also the herbs that I give you. Acupuncture cannot deal with a possible internal infection, for that you need something stronger than acupuncture. In this case there is no contradiction and sometimes we have to combine traditional and conventional medicine.
Alternative medicine is designed to slowly work at the root of a problem you may be having. To properly fix a problem, cure an illness, or make good progress, one must be patient and work diligently. Thorough work takes time, thorough work also has a solid basis for success. There is no quick fix or instant success.
